There are just a few days left before we kick off the first edition of the collaboration between Excellent Dressage Sales and Stal Brouwer Auctions. On Saturday, August 22, the first 64 foals will go under the hammer in Heerewaarden, presented by auctioneer Marthijs Brouwer. For those interested worldwide, it is also possible to bid online on their favorite.
The collaboration between EDS and Stal Brouwer brings together years of experience in the Dutch (dressage) horse breeding and auction world. This combined expertise is reflected in a collection that focuses not only on the quality of the foal itself, but also emphatically on pedigree, dam line, sport genes, and future prospects.
Exceptional sport genes, proven dam lines, and a champion
The collection includes several foals that stand out due to their interesting genetic background, and we have a champion in our midst. We kick off the auction this coming Saturday with We Loulé Daula; as the name suggests, this is a foal from the renowned Daula bloodline. One of the absolute highlights is Winnymouche, the full brother of Premium Stallion Scaramouche. Westside Dante himself became KWPN Champion of the South Holland region this summer, earning him a ticket to the National Foal Inspection on August 29. Additionally, the proven dam lines of the stallions Kyton (via Winner Don), Don Juan de Hus (via the foals Woudloper and Wi-Fivorette), Nacho (via the strikingly marked Ceasanne’s Joy), and Dutch Dream (via Wise Guy VE) are represented. Wake Up VE is a half-brother to the approved stallion Nespresso, ridden by Charlotte Fry. Plenty of sport genes can be found in Wimpie G, who comes from the same dam line as Fame, ridden by Carl Hester. This combination achieved a magnificent sixth place in the Grand Prix Special at the World Championships in Aachen. In Aachen, Johnnie Walker (by Johnson) also competed with the Swedish rider Rebecca Mauléon. Foal number 27 (Wright by Glock’s Energy) is closely related to this Johnnie Walker. Favour Gersdorf made a major contribution to the Danish bronze team medal in Aachen. Favour Gersdorf is a half-brother to the dam of What a Dream van het Poeleind (by Dream Boy). The Vuelta offspring Wasabi Roville comes from an exceptionally good dam line that also produced, among others, the Grand Prix mare Vitana V by Morgan Barbacon and the approved stallions Cennin and Lantanas. A number of genetically very interesting foals will also compete in the collection to be auctioned on Sunday, August 30.
