EDS foal auction 2017: four years later

Four years ago, the 2nd edition of the EDS Foal Auction took place in Ermelo. Several talented foals changed hands, including the auction topper Marosi (by Daily Diamond) with an amount of € 45,000. In the meantime, these promising foals have grown into talented four-year-old horses, and despite the fact that many young horse competitions have come to a halt, several of the horses have already managed to attract attention.

Successful stallions

The acquisitions in 2017 proved to be a good investment for several new horse owners. No less than three stallions already managed to stand out during the stallion inspections. Foal auction topper Marosi, who is now named as Miljonair, was selected for the KWPN performance test last year. Later this beautiful young stallion was sold at the Excellent Dressage Sales 2020.

Not only the auction topper turned out to be a good investment, but also the stallions Make My Day (by Incognito) and Monte Carlo TC (by Dream Boy), both of which were sold for € 19,000, turn out to be worth every euro.

Monte Carlo TC has been known as Blue Hors Monte Carlo TC since last year. As a 2.5-year-old, the stallion was the highlight at the KWPN Stallion Show in Den Bosch. Later he became Premium Stallion at the KWPN studbook and showed himself fantastic during the performance test.

The mares also stand out

Not only the stallion foals stand out 4 years after the EDS foal auction, the first mares have already managed to get themselves into the spotlight. As a foal, Maxima (by Totilas) was already appreciated by several buyers because of her striking good foreleg technique. Ultimately, the handsome dark brown filly was sold in 2017 for € 16,000. Now four years later, this mare has the predicates Elite, IBOP (drs), PROK, D-OC and nothing seems to stand in the way of a great career in sport and breeding.
