After a number of years of forced online editions due to the Covid pandemic, the Excellent Dressage Sales committee (consisting of Tim Coomans, Joep Schellekens, Joop van Uytert and Nico Witte) decided to transform the Academy Bartels location in Hooge Mierde into a live auction arena on Saturday 17 May. The sold-out hall was treated to a fantastic evening with show, entertainment, music and 46 high-quality auction items. 41 dressage horses and 5 genetically interesting foals went under the hammer of auctioneer Marthijs Brouwer, where it was also possible to bid online.
Topseller was the 3-year-old stallion DC-10 (Dynamic Dream x Escolar) for €250,000. There was a lot of foreign interest in this stallion and under saddle he showed round after round that this interest was more than justified. A Danish bidder came out on top. The mares Renate-Daula and Geneve dropped the hammer at €170,000. The experienced Grand Prix horse Hexagon’s Grandville brought in €160,000 and will go to a rider from Dubai. The approved stallions Freelance and Willem Normandi found a new owner for €140,000 and €120,000.
The foal Secret Bloom Rosy-Liena JVR (by Secret USB) was the most expensive foal and brought in €10,000.
With a high sales percentage, great sales prices, happy buyers, many satisfied sellers and enthusiastic visitors, the team of the Excellent Dressage Sales can look back on a fantastic live edition.
