Before we post an article about Excellent Black, the auction topper of 2020, who was purchased by the family Ross. But this purchase during the Excellent Dressage Sales, was not the first time for Fenella Ross. In 2019 she bought Ghita Fille de Zita S ( Lord Loxley x Sandro Hit) during our exclusive dressage horse auction. We asked her how Ghita Fille de Zita S is doing en what are the goals for this combination.
She is more than we expected
Ross: “In 2019 I was looking for a horse that was not too young, so I could compete immediately, but still could educate up the levels. When we saw Ghita Fille de Zita S during the Excellent Dressage Sales I knew she was everything I was looking for. After we bought her, I realised she is even more than that! Ghita always had a beautiful paces, but she improves so much all the time and is always surprising me.
Besides, her work ethic is amazing. Ghita tries 100% every single day. She loves to work and is always really enthusiastic.“
The goal for 2021: International Small tour
Directly after purchasing Ghita Fille de Zita s, the combination was successful during multiple competitions in the UK. Recently they started at the Prix St. George level and immediately achieved scores over the 70%. Ross: “Ghita is doing so well. This year we won a Premier League here in the UK with scores over 70%, which directly qualified us for the National Championships. Unfortunately because of Corona these were cancelled, but we look forward to trying again next year. Furthermore our goal of 2021 is to ride at International Small Tour level. Of course, the ultimate goal is to keep her training to Grand Prix level.”
