Hey You wins Prix St. Georges in Velsen-Zuid

In 2017, the then 5-year-old Hey You was sold at the Excellent Dressage Sales. This very beautiful Romanov son stood out in the collection at the time. Something that turns out without reason. Current owners Joop van Uytert and Annemarie van Esterik placed the talented gelding in training with Dutch Olympic rider Imke Schellekens-Bartels. The combination has taken the time to grow, but has recently scored good results, including the victory in the Prix St. Georges in Velsen-Zuid last weekend.

Flexibility and a very good walk
In Velsen-Zuid the combination showed a good, almost clear test, which resulted in a score of 72.9%. A personal best for the combination, who only appeared in the ring a few times before.

Hey You stood out as a young horse because of his flexibility, suppleness and fantastic walk, that has remained unchanged. Meanwhile, the gelding also shows a lot of power, scoring eights and a 9 for the tempi changes.

Goal is the Big tour
Despite the fact that the combination first wants to gain more experience in the Small Tour, the goal is to eventually start in the Big tour. Imke: “I am very grateful that the owners of this fantastic horse have always believed in us as a combination. In the coming months we want to develop even more power at Hey You and gain more experience, in order to eventually start in the big tour.”
