Breeders and foal owners can sign in their foal for the selection days of the EDS-Prinsenstad online foal auction. Just like last year, the selection days will take place in June at various locations in the Netherlands. The EDS team, consisting of Joop van Uytert, Nico Witte, Tim Coomans and Joep Schellekens, is present at every selection day to select the best foals for the collection. Selection is made on conformation, movement and pedigree.
Dates and locations
A total of five selection days will be organized. In terms of location, there is a clear spread over the country, so the foals don’t have to be transported for hours.
Selection days 2021
- Tuesday 1 June at Heerewaarden
- Wednesday 9 June at Hooge Mierde
- Saturday 12 June at Oud Beijerland
- Thursday 17 June at Eibergen & Gieten
- Friday 18 June at Heerenveen & Warmerhuizen
Register and the course of the selection days
Do you have a foal that you would like to sign in for one of the selection days for the EDS-Prinsenstad online foal auction? This can be done quickly and free of charge by filling in the online registration form. In addition, it is possible to contact the EDS team by telephone or to obtain more information via email.
Just like last year, the foals are first presented during the selection days, after which the breeder is immediately informed by the EDS team whether the foal will be included in the collection. The professional photos and videos to properly present your foal on the auction site are also taken directly on the selection day. Because of this, you only have to travel with the mare and foal once.
EDS-Prinsenstad online foal auction 2020
Last year, the EDS-Prinsenstad foal auction was organized for the first time as an online auction and it turned out to be a great success! Twenty foals were sold for € 10,000 or more, with some outliers who were sold for € 25,000 and more. Pretty Perfect (by Livius) became the auction topper in 2020. This powerful moving filly changed hands for € 38,000. The great international interest was also noticeable. Last year, the auction was followed from 140 countries and bids were actually made from more than 20 countries.
