Five star wins Nations Cup Dressage

The eleven-year-old stallion of Amazing Star (Amazing Star x Jazz) was part of the winning Nations Cup dressage team in Wellington this week. A percentage of 74.206% was the contribution of the KWPN stallion under the German Kevin Kohmann.

 Together with Christoph Koschel and Frederic Wandres, Kevin Kohmann formed the German team that just managed to stay ahead of the host America.

In 2014 the 4-year-old Five Star (Amazing Star x Jazz) was sold during the Excellent Dressage Sales. At the time, the purchase of this talented KWPN approved stallion was much discussed. In 2016, Five Star in the picture again, when he won the Silver Medal at the World Championships for young dressage horses as a 6-years-old.

Kevin Kohmann continues as an American
The 32-year-old dressage rider Kevin Kohmann, born in Hamburg, will play for America. Just days before helping Germany to victory in the Nations Cup this week, he became an American citizen.

“Five Star has not disappointed me yet”
Last November, Kohmann got to ride Five Star. Kevin Kohmann has now started Five Star internationally twelve times in the Small Tour, the pair finished first ten times and second twice. They added the Nations Cup victory to that this week. Kohmann said in the press conference about the stallion: “Five Star has not disappointed me all season. This week he achieved his highest score in the Prix St. Georges (first part of the Nations Cup, ed.)!
