Excellent Dressage Sales has been changed to an online auction in 2020 due to the Covid-19. An online auction was also chosen in 2021, where customers all over the world could place a bid. Despite the fact that the EDS team missed to meet people and the fun and ambiance of the event, they look back on 2021 with satisfaction.
Diversity in the spring edition
The online edition of Excellent Dressage Sales took place on March 27, 2021. It became an auction of diversity. Both Grand Prix horses and young talents were auctioned. The amounts for the older sport horses ran high, sometimes exceeding € 100,000, but the bids for the young horses in particular went remarkably fast on the last day. For example, the 3-year-old Night Sky (by Franklin) was sold for €42,000 and No Limit (by Total US) and Norton (by Just For You) also exchanged for more than €30,000. Ultimately, the online auction achieved a turnover of more than € 2,000,000,-. The EDS team was especially pleased with the confidence of the customers. EDS team member Tim Coomans: “Reliability is important to us. We notice that more and more buyers find their way to Excellent Dressage Sales and also want to invest in talent. Both at home and abroad.”
The expectations of the foal auction 2021 far exceeded
At the end of August, the EDS-Prinsenstad online foal auction took place. Practically all breeders saw their talented foals leave to a new owner. In addition, 8 foals were sold for €20,000 or more. Richmond (by Dynamic Dream) became the auction topper. The talented colt was sold for an amount of €53.000,-. Other outstanding foals were Riley Rules (by Livius), which was sold for €40.000,-, and Rieky’s Design (by Fürst Dior), which moved to Scotland for €35.000,- .
EDS team member Joop van Uytert: “We already talked about a dream collection in advance and that was confirmed during the auction. The collection contained top foals from strong dam lines and from various stallion dams. This quality was recognized by many buyers.”
On to 2022
The 8th edition of Excellent Dressage Sales will take place on March 26, 2022. Like the other editions, the EDS team strives for a collection with a lot of quality and diversity. To make a good selection, the first selection day will start in a few days, but it is still possible to register your horse for different selection days. Do you have a good dressage horse for sale?
