Genua TC (1)

Throwback: Genua TC (by Charmeur)

In 2015 the stallion Genua TC (by Charmeur) was presented and auctioned at Excellent Dressage Sales for €170.000. After the auction Jeanine Nieuwenhuis started riding and competing him. They competed together in the World championships for 6-year-old dressage horses in 2017. Last year they were selected to ride at Jumping Amsterdam. They became third in the Prix St. Georges (71.461%) and the Kür Intermédiaire I (76.625%). In November 2019 it was announced that Genua TC was sold to Sophie Reef and would be leaving The Netherlands to go to Germany.

Special horse

Jeanine started training the brown chestnut when he was 4 years old. In an interview she said she was sad to see this horse leaving, but also happy he could continue his sporting career with a very capable rider. “Genua is a special horse to me. I never rode a bad test with him, and he really has the potential for all exercises.”

At the end of 2019 the combination rode their first U25 test and scored above 69%. Then their goal to compete at Jumping Amsterdam this year was announced.

Sophie Reef

Competing in the U25 at Jumping Amsterdam this year was not possible for Jeanine, because at the end of November last year Genua TC was sold. The German under 25 Grand prix rider Sophie Reef had her eye on 10-year-old chestnut gelding. Last year, through EDS she already bought Charming Lady (by Painted Black). With Genua TC Sophie Reed has got a new and third prospect for the international Young Riders and U25 competitions.
